I often pee standing up, however, I have been told by MDs that for a woman's bladder to fully empty sitting or squatting lets the bladder empties completely. I normally wear long skirts with panties no pantyhose and often must urinate in rural or public places with no facilities.
I can go to a secluded place that will not contaminate frequently used public areas or be at my car door with the door open. Move my panties aside, pull my dress away from my backside slightly, kick out my ass slightly so it angles away from the mainline of my body, and pee.
I have had to also sit on the edge of the car or truck seat or the outer edge of the doorway. With my dress ruffed up the back but front normal and pee off the edge. Urinals should be available because often you end up standing up anyway because of lack of sanitary conditions.
